These terms are the agreement between you and Humane Culture when you use humaneculture.com, our courses on New Zenler, our free quizzes, and our community. By creating an account, buying a course, or using the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Humane Culture runs this site. We make courses, tools, and training about workplace culture. You can reach us at support@humaneculture.com.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or buy a course.
When you sign up, give us accurate information and keep it current. Each account is for one person. Do not share your login or let anyone else use your account; if a coworker wants the course, they need their own account, or your employer can buy access for a group (see Training for Organizations). You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your password private and tell us right away at support@humaneculture.com if you think someone else has used it.
When you buy a course, you get a personal, non-transferable license to watch the course, take its quizzes, and download its worksheets for your own learning. You are buying access to the course; you are not buying ownership of the videos, worksheets, or other materials.
You may print or save worksheets for your own use, and you may use what you learn in your own work. You may not copy, resell, share, post, or record the course, or use the materials to teach your own paid or public training, without our written permission.
Access lasts for as long as we offer the course on the site. If we retire a course, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email so you can finish it and download the worksheets. We may update a course over time; updates are included at no extra charge.
Prices are shown in U.S. dollars on each course page. Payments are processed by Stripe or PayPal. We do not receive or store your full card number; your payment information is handled under the payment provider's own terms and privacy policy.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the price and interval shown at checkout until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account page or by emailing us, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Refunds: if a course or report is not right for you, email billing@humaneculture.com within 30 days of purchase and you will get a full refund, whether or not you have started it. Refunds go back to the original payment method, usually within 10 business days. Once a refund is issued, your access to that course or report ends. Purchases made by an organization under a written agreement follow the refund terms in that agreement.
Training we deliver to organizations, such as the Leading From the Inside Out supervisor program, is covered by a separate written agreement with each organization. That agreement sets the scope, schedule, price, payment terms, and who may use the materials. If that agreement and these terms conflict, the agreement controls for that organization's training.
Our courses and tools are for education and reflection.
Some courses use wage and hour rules and other employment laws as examples. These laws change and differ by state and city, and the examples may not fit your situation. Nothing on this site is legal advice, and using the site does not create an attorney-client relationship. For decisions about your own workplace, talk with an employment attorney or your HR or legal team.
Our courses discuss stress, conflict, and trauma-informed leadership. They are not therapy, counseling, or medical care, and they are not a substitute for a licensed professional. If you’re in crisis, call or text 988 at any time of day. In an emergency, call 911.
Our quizzes are reflection tools. They are not validated psychological tests or formal assessments. Please do not use its results, or results from any of our tools, to make hiring, firing, promotion, pay, or other employment decisions about anyone.
The community is for people working to make their workplaces more humane. Treat others the way you would want to be treated at work. Disagree with ideas, not people.
In the community, do not:
We may remove any post that breaks these rules, and we may suspend or close the account of anyone who breaks them, especially more than once. Please do not post confidential information about your employer or anyone else's; what you share in the community can be seen by other members. To report a post, email support@humaneculture.com.
Our content: the course videos, worksheets, quizzes, our quizzes and their illustrations, the Humane Culture name and logo, and everything else we create for the site belong to Humane Culture and are protected by copyright and trademark law. Your license to use them is the one described under Courses and Access.
Your content: comments and posts you share in the community stay yours. By posting them, you give us permission to display, store, and share them within the site so the community works, and to remove them under Community Rules. We will not use your posts in our marketing without asking you first. You can delete your own posts at any time.
We link to government pages, research, and other sources so you can read them yourself. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices. Laws and government guidance change; check the source for the current version.
We work to keep the site running and the content accurate, but we provide the site, courses, and tools "as is." We cannot promise the site will always be available, free of errors, or that the content will produce any particular result for you or your workplace.
To the extent the law allows:
These limits do not apply to anything the law does not allow us to limit, such as losses caused by our fraud, willful misconduct, or gross negligence.
You can close your account at any time by emailing support@humaneculture.com.
We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, share your login, copy or resell our materials, or misuse the community. When we can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to fix the problem first. If we close your account for breaking these terms, you lose access to your courses and are not owed a refund. If we close your account for any other reason, we will refund the unused part of what you paid.
The limits on copying under Courses and Access, and the Our Content and Yours, Limits of Liability, and Governing Law sections, still apply after an account ends.
We may update these terms. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also email account holders at least 14 days before it takes effect. Using the site after a change takes effect means you accept the new terms. A change does not alter the price or refund terms of a purchase made before it.
These terms are governed by California law. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts in Kern County, California, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it somewhere else. Before filing anything, please email us so we can try to work it out.
